چکیده

The rational polynomial coefficient (RPC) model has recently raised considerable interest in the photogrammetry and remote sensing community. This model is a generalized sensor model that is capable of achieving high approximation accuracy. Unfortunately, in all previous literature, the computation of the parameters of the RPC model depends on initial values for the parameters. In this paper, an algorithm for the computation of the parameters without these initial values is presented. Finally, the algorithm is tested on TerraSAR-X and COSMO-SkyMed SAR imagery. Based on numerous tests, the following conclusion can be drawn. This study found that the RPC model is suitable for high resolution SAR imagery. * Corresponding author.

A novel Radargrammetric Model and a RPCs Generation Strategy: Application with COSMO-SkyMed and Terra SAR-X Imagery

The topic of this paper is the definition of a geometric model for stereo pair orientation of SpotLight Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery collected by the new high amplitude resolution radar sensors COSMO-SkyMed (Italian) and TerraSAR-X (German). The suite for radargrammetric approach has been implemented in SISAR (Software per Immagini Satellitari ad Alta Risoluzione), a scientific softwa...

Centimeter Range Measurement Using Amplitude Data of Terrasar-x Imagery

The SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) imagery are largely used for the environmental, structures and infrastructures monitoring. In particular, Differential SAR Interferometry (DInSAR) is a well known technique that allows producing spatially dense displacement maps with centimetre to millimetre accuracy. The SAR signal is characterized by phase and amplitude value and the DInSAR remote sensing te...

Accuracy Assessment of Building Height Estimation from a High Resolution Optical Image Combined with a Simulated Sar Image

Modern space borne SAR sensors like TerraSAR-X and COSMO-SkyMed are capable of acquiring images with a geometric ground resolution of one meter. Airborne sensors achieve even higher ground resolution. In such very high resolution SAR imagery single objects like houses and bridges become visible. However, effects due to the side-looking slant range acquisition principle of SAR, layover, foreshor...

Centimeter Cosmo-skymed Range Measurements for Monitoring Ground Displacements

The SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) imagery are widely used in order to monitor displacements impacting the Earth surface and infrastructures. The main remote sensing technique to extract sub-centimeter information from SAR imagery is the Differential SAR Interferometry (DInSAR), based on the phase information only. However, it is well known that DInSAR technique may suffer for lack of coherence...

Analyzing Terrasar-x and Cosmo-skymed High-resolution Sar Data of Urban Areas

The new high-resolution synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite systems offer new possibilities for urban remote sensing. COSMOSkyMed and TerraSAR-X operate in X-band and both can deliver data with a spatial resolution of up to one meter. High-resolution SAR data is particularly useful for post-disaster damage assessment and monitoring, because SAR systems operate (almost) weather independent....
